Blue eleven*

A list of things that make me feel a lot more cheery:

  • Mango - Betacarotene a plenty. It's like eating sunshine. Squeeze lime over it. Use a fork not a spoon to eat it = satisfying skewering of the firm pieces that taste like pine.
  • Peanuts - reassuringly calm, sweet and funny.
  • Listening to King Street Junior - KSJ is just so rubbish, it's great. Overwhelmingly wonderfully stilted performances particularly from Mr Sim and any of the kids. The most unnatural dialogue ever crowbarred into a sitcom, providing the listener with a lecture on current developments in government education policy - "Oh no Mr Long, I can't believe we have to complete these learning target assessments on literacy and numeracy, it's a load of time-consuming poppy cock." And yet strangely someone kept recommissioning it for years.
*I only write on the eleventh of a month, I realise.

It's not my time you're wasting......

The exact things I had googled before 10am this morning:
Wacky Warehouse
Peter Pan Tinkerbell Clap your hands
Dave Walker (His blog is just understated joy, but it got moved to the Church Times and I keep forgetting.)

The internet had been down at work for nearly 3 weeks, so I went click happy.

You note that none of these searches relate to street children, the apartheid wall in Israel/Palestine, liberation theology, or viking direct. Don't tell my boss what a internet slack Alice I am. To be honest he probably has a pretty good idea based on the list of bookmarks in my browser, which starts with this.

And now I come to write this I feel pretty bad, as working for a charity I basically work for the poor, so it's not my time I'm wasting, it's the time of the poor.

As if they didn't have enough problems...
